opening explorer automatically with Net Zero

I have been trying to help ,my brother who has Net Zero (NZ) Platnium for his
ISP. When you start NZ, it opens up the explorer window and then the NZ bar
appears on top of the explorer window. Recently, the explorer window does
not open and only the top NZ bar appears. He has to select the blue E on the
desktop to open the window. It takes a long time to open. I have tried all
I can. Uninstall NZ and reinstall, all the chat helps I can find such as
iexplore.rereg, scf/scannow, add/remove and select to repair the IE, etc.
Net Zero tells me I may have a corrupt internet explorer. I don's see how
this could be but I am not good at this too technical stuff. Can I
re-install IE6? If so, how? I have XP SP2, IE6. and a Dell computer that
is only 2 years old. I am so frustrated. Any other suggestions would be
much appreciated.

Have you tried a System Restore to an earlier time before the problem
started?

Yes, it says somethink like the restore point has nothing to restore so I am
sure there is another issue there too.
