I received a new laptop in August, used excel once or twice on the system. When I went to use my system the other day I am being prompted when I attempt to open the program...
"Please wait while Windows configure Microsoft Office 2000"...this takes place, and then I am prompted to install the start-up CD.
I am being given Fatal Error 1706
The file that it seems to be searching for is DATA1.MSI
sometimes it will not open at all, others after hitting cancel a few times it opens.....very odd. I've been using Excel for years and never had this happen.
