Opening Excel opens 70 worksheets

When I click on the icon to open Excel, it automatically starts opening
files. It opens 70 files every time then stops. Could this be a macro
problem or possibly a virus?

It is likely you have a location listed in Tools>Options>General>Alternate
startup location. There should generally be nothing in here
