opening a file

i had some word files on my desktop and created a folder to put them in. now
when i try and open them it says "word cannot open document:user does not
have access privileges" can someone help?

file or folder in Windows XP" helps you to resolve the problem:

If the above doesn't help, and you have Norton Antivirus installed, its
Office Plugin may be causing the problem........disable that plugin.
