Help!! I have been trying to open a database that can be accessed and opened
on other computers using Access 97 or Access 2000. I have two computers that
won't open the .mdb files. Access will open then a get a box that pops up
very quickly that states " Please wait while the system refreshes links to
**** data tables." and then everthing shuts down quickly.

Sounds like it could be a drive mapping problem ie. the computer with the problem doesn't have a drive mapped that the others do, and the database has a table linked to sometihng on that drive. Make a list of the common drive mappings on the two computers that it works on, and then compare that with the drive mappings on the computer it doesn't work on.

Try holding down the Shift key while opening the database. This
message is not from Access itself; it's from some VBA code in the
database which is trying to link to the tables, and evidently failing.

These two computers may have bad links in the References. If you
succeed in opening the database, type Ctrl-G to get into the VBA
editor and select Tools... References. If any of the checked boxes has
the word "MISSING" next to it, uncheck it, recheck it, close and open
Access, and see if that solves the problem. If it doesn't please post
back with more information (such as the VBA code in the Startup form's
Open event).
