Opened BCM this AM - history for each contact linked to inbox

Hello. I have been using BCM since late november and was quite happy with it
until today.

This is the first time this has happened. I opened Outlook this morning ,
went to my business contacts, opened a current client and discovered that all
my notes, journal entries etc. have all disappeared and my entire outlook
inbox (i.e. all messages in the inbox) is now part of the individual history
for that contact. In other words, when I look at the history, I see my entire
inbox for today, yesterdays and back to the beginning.

Same thing for every other contact (I have 421 business contacts in my
current database). All opportunities, notes, journal entries have
disapeared. I hope someone can help otherwise I have just lost 15 days of
hard work updating my client database, linking thousands of e-mails etc. in
BCM! Thanks - and boy, is this scary! I do have a database backup that I
created just before Christmas that I can use if necessary.

BCM sometimes has what's known as a "forms cache" problem. Clearing the
cache usually fixes it. Choose Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options |
Custom Forms, then click Manage Forms, then Clear Cache. If simply clearing
the cache doesn't fix the issue, try the other steps detailed at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;836558

The bulk of the forms cache issues in Outlook 2003 are fixed in Service Pack
1, so you should also install Office 2003 Service Pack 1 as well as BCM SP1.

Just clear your forms cache.

Tools, Options. Other.
Advanced Options
Custom Forms
Manage Forms
Clear Cache.

It is a relatively common problem iwth BCM.

Thanks to both Sue and Patricia - you are an excellent resource on this
forum. I should tell you that I did clear my cache before posting my message
and this did not solve the problem. I did look at the other steps that Sue
suggested below - but this did not help. However, I finally ran "detect and
repair" and now everything is back. Thanks very much for your help.
