open windows explorer incident when windows starts

hi all, thanks in advance for your help.
i am running winXP home ver 2002 sp3. when i boot my machine and it gets to
the desktop there is always an open incident of Windows Explorer open to the
C:\Program Files\Common dir. how do i stop this? i am not wanting to know
how it started, just how to stop it. thanks again, Chris

Surround the folder path with quotations.

with a couple little variences it worked. just so you know, in my case
surrounding the folder path with quotations did not work; i had to remove
the values (there were three referrences to .exe files that no longer
resided in the folder). thanks again, Chris

the fix did not work.

maybe i was not specific enough with the path i originally presented.
where i wrote C:\Program File\Common dir i meant the Windows Explorer
incident opens and shows the path "C:\Program Files\Common" (without the
quotes) as the directory that it has opened. clear as mud?
