Open/Save Dialog question

I keep having to ask this because the problem keeps popping up.

I just re-installed XP Pro, again, and I am having that familiar problem.
When I left-click on an internet media file, i.e. avi, mpg, mpeg; I get the
open/save dialog box. I un-check the "Always ask..." box and click "open".
The next file with the same extention, on the same site or another, even
after restarting IE 6 OR rebooting, brings up the dialog box again. I repeat
the process until I get fed up.

I have tried the regedit at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm ,
but although it worked on my last re-install, it doesnt now?

Any ideas?

As always, any help will be appreciated.

Much love!

Hey Kelly. I tried the dontask regedit on your site, but it didnt seem
to work on my system. It only pops up when I left click on internet.mpg
or .mpeg files, and it doesnt go away when I clear the box. I have XP
Pro sp1 with all the updates, and I just re-installed into the windows
folder. I have gotten everything else back to the way I like it, but
this one little thing is bugging me.

As an MVP, I hope you have some insight into this issue.

Any help will be appreciated.

Much love!

Well, I'm not sure why, but I am now able to open .mpg and .mpeg files
on left-click without the dialog box now. I don't know if it was the
regedit file and a few reboots or what, but now it no longer asks. I
did run the file from Kelly's site a few times, but it would not work
even after a reboot, but today it just stopped asking?

Thanks Kelly for the file, and don't worry about replying to that email
with the exported key.
