I want to open 200 MB size xls, but I cannot. I have tried it with Excel 2000
and Excel 2003.
With Excel 2000 I got "Not Enough memory" .
With Excel 2003 I got a different error message. It is about the Excel
cannot do the issue with available resources. Choose less data or close other
applications.

I have read the Excel 2003 can handling 1 GB file.

What is happen?

O.S: Windows 2000 with SP4
and tried on Windows XP with SP1
Memory: 1.5 GB RAM

Thanks in advice.

Have you tried opening it in 2003 with the repair option? It seems to me
that virtually any 200MB file is going corrupt anyway. To open with the
repair, File-->Open. Pick your file (don't open). From the Open button,
choose the dropdown and pick Open and Repair.

Dear Anne,

Thanks for your answer. No, I haven't tried it. I will.

if this way works why get the same error when I try to open 2 100 MB size
file?
Also get the error message when open a 100 MB size and a 60 MB size files?
But when I open a single file of these it is OK.

I didn't find any logic in errors.

CAN the Excel handle big files?
