Open as Read-Only

In our older version of Excel (I don't recall what version
it was), I could FILE > OPEN and right-click on an Excel
file. The menu that came up gave me the option to "Open
Read-Only". With Excel 2002, I can't find how to Open a
file read-only.
There is a file I want to make changes in for now, but
don't want to accidentally save after I make changes.
However, later on I will want to save some changes in the
file. I know how to set the properties to open Read-Only,
but then to save here again I would have to remember to
uncheck the Read-Only option. Is there any way around
this?
TIA, Brad E.

File/Open
Select the file
Click the down arrow on the right side of the Open button for various
opening options.

Hi Brad

in my Excel 2003 the 'Open' Button has a dropdown arrow. There you can
find your read-only option
