I have tried numerous times to set up the network on my 2
home pc's. immediately after running the set up wizard,
the network works fine and i can access the old pc from
the new. however, the old pc (uses ME) can never access
the new one (uses XP), recieving message "access denied".
usually after shut down, hibernate, or going idle, the
computers no longer show up on either pc's network places
and it is back to square one. HOWEVER, the internet
connection stays functional between the 2 pc's.
i have disabled the firewall, disabled the antivirus
program during setup, and all other suggested fixes i
have found...nothing works. the only way i can use the
network to access the other pc is to run the setup wizard
when i need something off of the old pc. does anyone have
any suggestions?
