only using 3/4 of the screen

i bought a new laptop just over a week ago, everything was great until a few
hours ago when i started it up and it only loaded in 3/4 of the screen. the
whole thing is there, its not vutting anything off, but its all loaded in the
top left hand side of the screen. why is this?
and is it fixable?

Check the screen resolution (right-click desktop, Personalization, Display
Settings) and make sure it is set to its native resolution.
