One network has DHCP and one doesn't

My home network has DHCP and works smoothly, and at my works network they
don't have DHCP so I put in all the proper ip addresses and it all works.
But my question is, is there any way I can keep the ip addresses and get
windows vista to automaticly alternate between the two networks? Becase each
time I go to work I have to re-enter all the addresses and then I go home and
I have to wipe them all out to use my home network.

When you were in there changing the settings and had DHCP configured for
home use, did you ever wonder what the "alternative configuration" tab did?
You might find it helpful to click on it and find out. Remember, this has to
be with DHCP set up as your current connection setting...

Assuming that IPV4 is used both places (pretty good assumption at present).

Get to your local area connections properties window. Select Properties
button.

Select Internet Version 4 IP protocoll and properties.
The General Tab is where you are probably setting the automatic or specific
address now.
Set the entries in General tab to 'automatic' for both areas.

It is not really obvious what the 'Alternate Configuration' is about. If
your computer is unable to locate a DHCP service to provide the automatic
setting you have requested with the settings in the General tab then it will
try the settings in the 'Alternate Configuration'. So set you office values
there.

Should get you going if you have just the two networks to worry about.

I've tried it before and it would only give me limited connectivity. I
finally gave up on figuring that out and just took off DHCP and manually put
in the addresses for both. But it would be nice to have DHCP enabled and
still be able to put in alternate addresses.
