I had a 10 page paper on word 2007, i saved it quite a few times when writing
it. while it was open i started on another document. somehow when i saved the
second document, the name of the first jumped into the name of the second
document and before i could stop my laptop mouse pad from clicking i had
overwritten the first document with the second. Is there any way I can get
that back?

hopefully i haven't confused you, b/c I'm a complete meat head!

If you had the Word set to save backups then the last backup should recover
most of it, otherwise it is gone.
