I have just reading over some old NG posts and...
I noticed on a couple of forums you have mentioned about Zone alarm notoriously not uninstalling itself correctly....if at all! - here is the official manual removal routine al a zonelabs as well has a FULL file list which actually has 10+ files you may have to remove
I also remember someone else asking for this file list well.....here's the link

I knew a more complete list existed just because I have had the dubious pleasure of having to remove this stuff....i will never touch it again, software firewalls...shudder!!
I know this is well off topic but i the original dicussion was in DNS NG so there is relevance there
