On stype drop-down, how do I change "clear formatting" to courier

At present, when I select clear formatting it changes the sentence to a
different font and size.

Thank you for your help.

Hmmm...

Hard to make sense of what you want. Clear formatting is, perhaps, a
confusing term as all text at all times has _some_ formatting, but what it
does is clear all formatting that's on top of the assigned style. Courier is
a Font, not a style; if you want your text in Courier you must either create
or amend a style to include it and then use that style, or just format your
text as Courier on top of the style. I recommend the style route over the
direct formatting.

Clear Formatting merely applies the Normal paragraph style, the same as if
you had pressed Ctrl+Shift+N. Depending on what you want, you can select
Courier as the default font for a given template (Format | Font |
Default...) or you can change the font of Normal style to Courier (which
will probably affect other styles as well).
