Footnotes if you choose clear formatting numbers R the same as doc

If I choose to use clear formatting at the styles column to change the font,
the numbers of the footnotes dissapear- how can I correct this?

No contents should disappear when you clear the formatting so, assuming that
you meant to say that footnote numbers lost their formatting, you can use
Find and Replace to reapply the Footnote Reference style to the footnote
numbers: Press Ctrl+H. Click the More button.

"Find what": ^f
"Replace with": ^&

With the insertion point still in the "Replace with" box, click Format, and
then click Style. Click the "Footnote Reference" style and click OK. Then
click Replace All.

If you need to do the same with endnotes, use ^e for "Find what" and make
sure to specify the Endnote Reference style instead for "Replace with."
