Formatting Word Equation Editor in Courier New - missing minus sig

Hello there,

when I format an equation in Word Equation Editor in Courier New, I loose
the minus signs. In addition, I cannot write them back in.

Would you have any idea what to do?

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

sorry for omitting this information: Word 2002 (SP3), Microsoft Equation 3.0.

I hope this helps in answering my question why the minus sign was omitted.

With Equation Editor open, click on the Style menu and choose the
Define command. What font is Symbol style set to? If it's set to
anything other than Symbol font, change it back now and put a piece of
duct tape over it to remind yourself to never change it again.

Seriously, Symbol, L.C.Greek, and U.C. Greek need to stay on Symbol
font.

Thank you very much!

I wish Microsoft would apply the duct tape and only allow the Symbol font
for Symbol, L.C.Greek, and U.C. Greek!

Glad that solved the problem. Actually, later versions of Equation
Editor (4.0 and later, I believe) do restrict the choice of fonts for
Symbol style. The version of Equation Editor in Office 2007 is 3.1.
