So I turned in the On-Screen Keyboard. Is there anyway to turn the thing
off? I have looked and looked, but have not been able to figure out how to
do it.

Left click on the icon on the left hand side of the title bar and click on
Close, click on the menu bar and press Alt-F4, click on File and select
Close, left click on the box with the X in it on the right hand end of the
title bar, any of these should work.

Yes, thank you. I can turn it off once loaded, but how do I keep it from
autoloading when I log in.

Press Windows Key+U > Select On Screen Keyboard > Uncheck "Start automatically when
i log in" > OK

Good Luck, Ayush.

I have read all the messages here regarding "on-screen keyboard"; however,
your instructions that you gave regarding keeping the keyboard from
autoloading on start-up doesn't seem to apply to Wndows Vista.

When I follow your instructions mentioned below of " Press Windows Key+U >
Select On Screen Keyboard > Uncheck "Start automatically when
i log in" > OK", there is no place to Uncheck which says "start automatically when I log in". Perhaps this feature is with an older version of Windows Operating System but is non-applicable to Windows Vista.

Not only do I have the on-screen keyboard feature automatically loading but
I also have the magnifier feature automatically loading.

And, like the patrons before me, I have researched all help sites with no
information on how to deselect these two features so they do not autoload.

Please provide me information for preventing these two features from
autolaoding at startup of Windows Vista Home Basic Edition at your earliest
convenience. Your present instructions are not valid for Vista. Thanks.

Perhaps it would be most helpful to everyone nquiring about deselecting or
turning off or preventing the on-screen keyboard from autoloading at startup
of the pc, to say after you have put in the instructions to "uncheck the box"
and click apply, suggest the user to reboot the pc as the changes will not
take affect until after a reboot occurs. Instead, I learned it by accident.
