Just bought (yesterday) a new laptop. Have installed Microsoft Office small
business edition 2003 plus the update disc. When I type in a @ I get a " on
the screen. Because of this it is not possible to enter my e-mail address
into the fields required to install and register anti-virus software in my
new laptop. Can't find a solution in the help screens. I would like to
resolve the problem during this weekend rather than wait until Monday to take
the Laptop back to the laptop shop. Can anyone help?...Peter

I have the same problem on my desktop. The " key gives an @ and the @ key
gives a ". I would like to reverse this and restore the actual printed
character to the keyboard designation. Can anyone help with a procedure to
do this?

Check your input method & language under the Control Panel's
Regional and Language Options. It sounds like you're using the wrong
version of English for your location.

It has nothing to do with Microsoft Office.

You're set for the US keyboard layout. Change to the UK layout at Control
Panel | Regional and Language Settings. On the Languages tab, click Details,
then go the Settings tab.

Alternatively, it may be the other way around and you need to switch from
the UK keyboard to the US one.
