The icons NOW underneath them a subject such as Hearts, This is expected.
However, Hearts has a blue background. Something has changed. I want NO
background color at all. I must have changed something inadvertently. Can't
find anything that will lead me to that point. Anyone know what to do? Thanks
up front.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but if you're looking for
transparent, read the following:

To have transparent icons.

1) Hold down the Windows key and press Pause/Break. On the "Advanced" tab,
under "Performance" click "Settings." On the "Visual Effects" tab, make sure
the box "Use drop shadows for icon labels" is checked

2) Right-click on the Desktop, and make sure that "Arrange Icons by" "Lock
Web items" is not checked.

3) Right-click on the Desktop, and choose Properties. Othe "Desktop" tab,
click "Customize Desktop," then on the "Web" tab, uncheck all boxes.

4) Make sure any Wallpaper is an image file. Html will stop the
transparency.

That did not help.
Just the word, such as Hearts, which is below the icon for Hearts, is in
white type in a blue background. Is there another way to make the background
go away?
Thanks

Michael,

Try "Unlocking Web Items on Desktop".

Right-click on Desktop then go to "Arrange Icons By" and uncheck "Lock Web
Items on Desktop".

Good Luck.

Not locked.

Michael,

I find sometimes you need to lock the Web Items on Desktop then unlock to
enable the transparency..

Also,

You may need to disable "Use drop shadows for icon labels" in the System
Properties then click Apply. Then re-enable "Use drop shadows for icon
labels".

That worked. When I unchecked drop shadows for icon labels, applied, then
rechecked same and applied. Back to normal. Thank you very much.
