On-line capability of Fingerprint reader

i purchased my bio-metric fingerprint reader as a system requirment for a
On-line program. This Program requires on-line regestration of fingerprints
and fingerprint log-in....through a USB Bio-metric fingerprint reader....
This program does not recogize my reader even though it works great while in
windows and off-line uses.... How do I get the on-line program to recognize
my computers USB device?????????????????????????

They wanna sell me a reader for $180.00.... they will never tell me how to
adapt the one I have!
