If you have an on board video chip, it most likely shares memory with
the system. That option is usually set in the BIOS cmos setup
program. If you disable the on board chip, you will not be able to
use your machine unless you have a video card in the machine.
Reducing the memory of the on board chip may have an effect on what
color depths you can use. Usually, between 8 and 16K should suffice
for video.
