on a Vista o/s laptop running office 2007. The pst file is locked

How do I unlock the pst file so I can back it up.
Also when I managed to unlock it once by using ctrl_alt_del and using the task
manager then I still had another access denied error message.
Any help would be appreciated

It means something you have installed in not releasing the outlook.exe
process.

Once Outlook is fully closed, it could sometimes take up to 5 minutes before
the file lock on the pst-file is actually released. Once that has been
released as well, you can copy your pst-file.
