Error Message when importing Contacts from a .pst file with Vista

David Mariner

I am using Office 2003 SP3 with Windows Vista. I am trying to import contacts
using a .pst file from a computer running on Windows XP which is also running
Office 2003 using a Sandisk memory stick. As soon as I try to access the
..pst file in the Import process I get an error message "File access is
denied. You do not have the permission to open this file". If I try to open
the file whilst in contacts, I get the same message. How can I import my
contacts?

I don't think that you can open a .pst file directly from a portable storage
device. You need to copy it to the local hard drive first.
