Omit background graphics removes Slide Number

Guest

Hello,

I have selected a design slide, but on a few of the slides I remove the
background graphic. When the graphic is removed the Slide Number also
disappears. How can I keep the slide number visible and the graphic
invisible.

I have tried to add another Master Slide template but I didn't have any luck
with it either. I'm on Version 2002 SP2

Thanks in advance.

The graphic may have been grouped with the Slide Number placeholder, so when you
deleted the graphic you deleted them both. Go to View > Master > Slide Master.
Then go to Format > Master Layout and check the box next to Slide Number. Now
go to View > Normal. Does the Slide Number show up?

I think that when you choose "omit background graphics," it omits *all* the
background graphics -- including anything you might have on the master
(slide numbers, header/footer, date, etc.)

You could create a new slide master that doesn't have the background image
and apply that to the appropriate slides. Multiple masters is one of the
benefits of using PPT 2002 as opposed to an older version.
