OLK54 Temporary Files

T

TheScullster

Hi all

Trying to get to the bottom of bloating user profiles due to Outlook
temporary file behaviour.
AIUI, when a user closes Outlook with an email attachment open, the
temporary version created within Outlook stays in an OLK## folder within
their C:\Documents and Settings\usernamel\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files folder.
Some users have loads of files in these folders, I don't appear to have any.

The fact that these files are not deleted by Outlook seems to be a known
issue to Microsoft and, although there is a kb article it simply
acknowledges the issue and does not offer a solution.

Can the files in these folders be deleted manually without repurcussions?
Can the entire OLK## folders be deleted with Outlook closed?

Any advice gratefully received

TIA

Phil
