OLK* folder -- auto delete?

A

AnotherNewGuy

I have a user that had literally hundreds of files in his OLK folder, and
they dated back for three years. I've experimented with mine and can only
make them stick by closing Outlook while the attachment is open. He insists
he isn't doing that and isn't saving them to that folder.

I'm considering simply deleting the contents of that folder with a batch
file in his Startup. Is there any good reason not to do this?

thx

None that I'm aware of - note that if you delete the folder, outlook will
make a new one, using a new name.

See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/securetemp.htm for more information.
What your coworker is doing is opening an attachment from preview then
viewing a new folder or message or opening it from an open message but
closing the message before the attachment.

My plan is simply to insert a bat file in his startup that will just delete
*.* in that folder with the /q switch. Thanks for the link -- very helpful.
