I'm trying to figure out where Windows XP (home, if it makes a difference)
is getting information on what wallpaper to display when.
Explanation: I've got the "classic" NT login (as opposed to the XP "list of
users." Behind it, I'll have an older wallpaper, or different wallpaper,
displayed than what's on my account. My account is the only one (besides the
hidden "administrator," which has nothing and is, after all, only accessible
in safe mode) on the system.
I have three different programs that will, on occasion, be used to change
wallpaper- Mozilla, Windows pic/fax viewer, and IE. I rarely use IE. I
sometimes use Mozilla. Normally, though, it's "browse through image
directory, find one I like, double click - Pic/fax viewer comes up, set as
background."
I'll have one of three things happen:
1. Same pic shows up behind login screen as on desktop.
2. Old pic shows up in logon screen, new shows on desktop.
3. Distorted pic shows up in login screen, shows fine on desktop (normally
with smaller pics or tile patterns - most noticable with the tile pattern,
as it will not tile but just blow up a single one to fit the screen.)
Ideally, I'd just have a plain, solid color behind the login window,
regardless of what's on the account screen.
No, it's not earth shattering, life-halting, or data-threatening, I'd just
like to get this minor irritant figured out. Apparently my search skills are
rusty, as I couldn't find anything on this.
TIA,
Eric
