old vs new owner

Hi! I installed XP Home on my son's computer. Then he changed his mind and
wanted a faster computer. I decided to keep the computer for personal use.
Now, I created a user account in my name and deleted his ID. So long
everything was fine.
While moving My Documents to D: I discovered that my son's acount is still
very much in use under Documents and Settings. Actually all cookies and
favourites etc. are being registered in his name. How do I remove his name
completely from the computer so that all files etc are streamlined in my name
only?
Thanks for any help.

No, his account is gone. What you are seeing are the files and folders that
belonged to him while he had an account.
Deleting an account does not delete the files and folders that formerly
belonged to the account.
It will be much easier for you to manage these files and folders if you take
ownership of them. Refer to the Help & Support article "How to Take
Ownership of Files and Folders".
Once they belong to you, you can do whatever you wish with the files.
Certain folders in the \Documents & Settings\ tree belong to the system, you
may not be able to delete them.
However, you can certainly delete all files.
