old user profile

XP was recently reinstalled. None of the old user
profiles are now recognized. Not a problem for most, but
one of the old ones had a password. Although it appears
under "C:\Documents and Settings\", I cannot access it - I
just get a "access denied" message. How can I access the
files under this old profile - is there somewhere else I
can enter the password?

Never mind - I followed the instructions here:

and got into the folder.
