Old problem: Can't transfer IMGDAT00001.dat to new PC

I have read the google archives and I havent found a post with the
solution. I am running XP home and ran the File Transfer Wizard to
create two files in the folder USMT2.UNC.

Trying to migrate the file onto my laptop ends up with an error message
that the location does not contain the stored location. I used a
portable drive to store the files and then I transferred them back to C
drive but nothing has worked.

Any suggestions? Or is there a way I can disect the IMGDAT00001.dat
file?

There is a utility named fastconv that can be used to extract data
from a USMT 2.x store (and FSTW is using a USMT 2.x data store)

This tool can be optained from PSS or from this link

Thanks! I also came across this by fluke. I just copied the contents
of the store folder and then told the utility to use this and then it
transferred the data. It did mess up my OE profile so I had to create a
new one and import my mail. I guess the process isn't seamless.
