Old Driver Tries To Load and Fails

Hello

I am having a minor problem with my Windows 2000 system and would
appreciate any ideas. My Windows 2000 event viewer has an error every
time I boot up that comes from the Service Control Manager. The error
reads:

The Texas Instruments XDS560 Device Driver service failed to start due
to the following error: A device attached to the system is not functioning.

This relates to an emulator card that I had installed in the system but
has been removed. Obviously the software did not uninstall properly and
something is still attempting to install the driver

The problem is that I cannot figure out where the attempt is made to
load this driver. It does not appear in the Device Manager or in the
Services List.

It does appear in Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Computer Management
list under System Information/Software Environment/Drivers, where I get
the following information (displayed on a line):

Name xds560
Description Texas Instruments XDS560 Device Driver
File c:\winnt\system32\drivers\xds560.sys
Type Kernal Driver
Started False
Start Mode Auto
State Stopped
Status OK
Error Control Normal
Accept Pause False
Accept Stop False

I know that normally in the SERVICES list, one can enable or disable the
driver by right clicking on the driver and then enabling or disabling it
at bootup. What does one do with a driver that does not appear there in
order to prevent it from being loaded at start up?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Andrew
