Drivers not loading

After installing a software package and then uninstalling it, I am
having problems with my CD-ROM drive. In windows device manager it shows
the CD-ROM and shows me the driver but says it cannot load the drivers.

Check Event Viewer for errors. Check Device Manager for error codes and or
non-starting devices. What package?

Thanks Dave. Sorry posted in wrong group should be XP. I just got this
other machine with XP a couple of months ago.
