OL98 & PP97 issues

I received several Powerpoint 97 attachments in email.
After opening these attachments I am getting weird
problems with the file. If I try to do a File > Save As,
then use the Save in: drop down menu to try to save to
c:\ the menu starts flaking out and blinking and it wont
let me change the current directory. Other times, PP97
will freeze on me and I wont be able to close
Powerpoint. I get a message stating that You can't exit
Powerpoint while dialog boxes or alerts are open.
However there are no open dialog boxes or alerts open. I
have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to close PP. Very bizarre
behaviour. Any ideas?
