OL2K + Vista - get set-up screens every time it opens??

Ed from AZ

My friend has Outlook 2000 installed on a Windows Vista machine.
Every time he launches OL (from the desktop shortcut), he gets the set-
up screens. Then he clicks OK and it gets into OL, and email works
fine. Granted, he is not computer-savvy at all - he had me over there
to show him how to save an Excel file as a previous version. While I
was there, he asked me how to add email names to his Contacts, which
was completely empty!

So what can I tell him to do to stop getting the set-up screens? Or
if OL is otherwise functioning okay, would it be better just to leave
it alone?

Outlook 2000 is functioning the best it can on Vista - the best advice is to
get a new version of Outlook, one that works correctly on Vista or use
Windows Mail. See http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/vista.htm.

Thanks, Diane. I appreciate the info. I'd never have suspected that
was a known conflict issue!!
