OL2002: Personal Folders Backup

S

Saundra

Hi,

I hope I'm in the right place to ask a question about the Personal Folders
Backup on a machine running Windows XP with three users.

I downloaded & installed the add-in while logged on as administrator. But,
Backup as an option from the OL2002 File menu *only* showed up in the
administrator user, not when any of the other three users were logged on.
Well, that was no good because the administrator doesn't use email, so then
I tried to install it while I was logged on as myself. But, I couldn't do it
because it knew it was already installed and insisted on an uninstall. OK,
fine . . . I did that, so now I have the Backup available when I'm logged
onto OL2002, but the other users don't.

How ideas as to how I can fix things so that all of us have the ability to
use the pst folder backup as an option from the OL2002 File menu?

I'm not sure this will work, I don't know how the installer package
was set up for PFBackup, but does it show up in Add/Remove Programs in
the Control Panel for all the users? If it does see if selecting
Change and then Repair when each user is logged in helps. If there's
no Change then select the Support link if it's there and see if
there's a Repair button there.

How about...

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Other tab.
1.. Click Advanced Options, and then click COM Add-Ins.
1.. Do any of the following:
2.. To enable an add-in, select the check box next to the add-in.
Personal folder backup is in;

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Addins

and the file is OutBak.dll

Good luck on that...

Paul
