OL2000 problems and getting worse

Let me start with I scanned our entire systems with McAfee so no virii . one
users email takes forever to down load 7 4 line text messages. You can not
move any message to another folder without general errors. and when new email
arrives that has attachments, the symbols shows the attachment but there is
none in the email. I have tried scanpst on the mailbox/detect and
repair/defragged. as the day progresses the system gets worse. Oh I have
backed up his PST file and reloaded OL2000.

What errors?
Have you applied Office 2000 Service Pack 3 + additional hotfixes already?
What version of Windows are you running?
Is your virusscanner doing an incoming mail scan? If so disable this
integration (see the documentation of your virusscanner) and try again.

Can not access PST file on users directory.

Have you applied Office 2000 Service Pack 3 + additional hotfixes already? all patched
What version of Windows are you running? XP sp2
Is your virusscanner doing an incoming mail scan? If so disable this
integration (see the documentation of your virusscanner) and try again. Virus scanner disabled.

What is the size of the pst-file?
Scanned it for errors already with scanpst.exe?
