OL2000 Exchange 2000 resource scheduling strange problem

Hi,

I have a bunch of Exchange 2000 mailboxes set up as resources.

They are configured to automatically accept meeting requests, and
automatically decline meeting requests.

Somehow, there is now a phantom tentative appointment in one of these
resources.

It doesn't show up in the resource's Calendar. However, if I
double-click the slot where the phantom tentative meeting is, Outlook
says this appointment is adjacent to an existing appointment.

When I look at the Free/Busy times for this resource, it shows a
tentative appointment (no details).

What can be done? How did this tentative meeting get created in the
resource? More importantly, how can I delete it? As I said, it doesn't
actually show up in the resource's Calendar.

If you look at a different view of the calendar - like the "By Category"
view, can you see the event there and manipulate it?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I didn't see the phantom event in the
"By Category" view (or any other view).

Anything else I can try? Apparently this issue has happened before in
other resources.

Can I use MDBVU32.exe to see if there is an anomalous event in this
resource's Calendar?

Thanks

It seems we have a tentative workaround.

We manually booked a meeting in the resource, using the date/time of
the anomalous event.

(manually booked - manually added the meeting into the resource's
Calendar, rather than inviting the mailbox as a Resource)

We then deleted the manually booked meeting.

Now the anomalous event is no there, and we can properly book this
time slot.

Strange, but at least this is a workaround.
