OL'03 on Exchange'03 server - export personal contact Distrib. list

D

David H. Lipman

I and others have personal Distribution Lists (D-Lists) in our respective personal contacts.

How can we export the D-List to a WAB, PAB, CSV, etc. such that others can import them ?

Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]

No need to export. Simply create a Rich Text formatted message and insert the DL in the body and send. The recipient should drag the DL to their contacts folder and there you go.

Thank you.

Bummer - RTF is the only format that will allow you to send embedded Outlook items such as appointments, .vcf cards, DLs, etc.

Rather short-sighted but you live with what you got.

Open the DL and click File>Save As. Select the Text file option. This will
save it as a TSV (tab-separated values) file. However, DLs are not
importable. You can open the TSV in Excel, select all the entries, then
Edit>Copy. In Outlook, open a new DL, click Select Members, then paste the
clipboard from the prior step to the Members field. Click OK.

That worked. Thank you !

I have another question. However I can NOT post details in a public News Group due to
proprietary information contained within.

I would like to send you email if you could give me permission.

You may ask other MVPs in the Security field if you want to know more about me before
accepting email from me.
