OL insists on replying via a dead account!

My isp blocked port 25 except to their own server. So I deleted the email
account that used on outside server for smtp.

But when the user trys to reply to some messages, OL says it will send it
via the missing account! Since the account is gone and since it I wouldn't
be able to send via that account's Sept server; this makes no sense.

Why does OL try to send via an account that's dead and certainly isn't the
default account?

How can I fix this?

This is OL 2003.

Thanks for your help,

Frank

Why? just use the same smtp server - it won't affect the reply-to address
that your recipients see....

Hi,

I guess I wasn't clear. I can't use the outside smtp server so I HAD to
switch to my isp's smtp.

BUT, OL still wants to send replys via the old smtp. I've deleted the old
account and OL STILL insists on trying to use

Thanks,

Frank

Any insights into this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps this can be explained by the fact that Outlook will reply using the
account by which the messsage was originally received unless you
specifically choose a new one with the Accounts button.

Thanks Brian,

I didn't realize the user could override the account selected by OL.
That's a big help.

It doesn't explain why it happens because the messages I'm replying to
did not originally come from the defunct account.

But at least you've given me a workaround.

Thanks,

Frank

Use Field Chooser to add the Account field to the header line and see what
account received it.
