OL 2003 - Still no sort mail by read/unread status!?

How can I find/sort by/locate unread email in Outlook 2003 (or any other
version) without manually searching for it? There is a field available for
"Read" but you cannot sort by it. Bizarre that this feature is still
missing from Outlook.

Example: User has five folders with an "unread" count in bold (Outlook can
detect unread mail.... why can't it sort by it!). One folder may have 50
emails another 500 and another 1200. Outlook for all it's power now expects
the user to manually scroll through each folder until they locate the
mystery unread mail. No fun!

You can either sort your mail folder by Icon (I do not like this method) or
use a Search Folder.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

Thanks Milly! Search works, as does the Icon method (whic I didn't like as
well because you really couldn't sort by icon type).

Still bizarre to me that I can't order by the top most status level of
email: is it read or is it not? then comes who's it from, then date, then
subject (or some order similar to that!)

Why not just set the view on the Inbox (and each of the other folders) to
"Unread messages" when needed? There is a Views dropdown box on the
Advanced toolbar to make this a two-click operation.

I added 'Current View' to the Standard Toolbar and can sort Unread email by
folder. Even better... I've added an "Unread Mail" folder to the Search
Folders group in the Tree. Exactly what I've been looking for as it shows
all unread mail in all folders and shows what folder the mail is in.
Woohoo!

Well, you can change your view to show only unread messages.
