OL 2003 freezes when accessing Contacts through new mail message

I am using Outlook 2003 with an IMAP account. When I click on a new mail
message and attempt to access my Contacts by clicking on the "To" button in
the new mail message the program locks up. I can access Contacts through the
Contacts "button" on the left-hand size (where "Mail" and "Calendar" are). I
can add and edit Contacts without a problem. I just don't know what's
causing this problem and would greatly appreciate and help that can be given.

If this were happening to me, I'd remove and re-add the Outlook Address Book
service in my profile.
