Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help.
Using OL 2003 with BCM, with all updates
XPSP2 O/S
512k connection
Multiple mailboxes, totalling 1.1gb
Files backed up weekly using Outlooks backup tool for OL
OL was working fine when closed down the other day, but next morning on
startup it was VERY slow to open. When it did, the mails absolutely
trickled in, but this took 3 attempts to get the mail in completely -
previous twice it froze totally whilst dl'ing the mails. Mails totalled
1.16MB, so not as if a huge file was being sent to me or anything.
Now OL still takes minutes to start up, and the mails trickle in.
If I click on any buttons, folders etc either whilst mail is incoming
or even after it's dl'd OL freezes totally, and I have to use Task
Manager to kill it. When it does this, TM shows OL as using approx
80,000 of memory from 512mb, far and away the biggest resource user.
The processor also shows 100% usage.
All other programs, inc IE, work fine and at the expected speed.

this, OL freezes. Has anyone any advice on both what might be causing
this, and more importantly how I can hopefully resolve this matter?
