Hi,
I have a 9800 Pro 256MB, one of the early ones, and I have been using the
ATI demo's to show what my card can do to some friends, 3DMark 2001/2003,
Creaturemark and I have also used the Dawn demo and the Matrox Reef demo.
Which other demos are out there and look nice?

Thanks

Alan.

There are quite a few demos and screensavers available at the ATI website.
Don't be fooled if some say for 9000 or whatever......they will run on your
card. I downloaded most of them so I could *play* with my 9800. ;-))

The truth is out there. You just have to look in the right places and ask
the right questions.

Ok, I might try that. I thought there was a demo that used the aquanox
engine?

Personally I like the Nvidia Dawn fairy demo (with the ATI hack
applied)... It runs better on the 9800Pro than the Nvidia's too! LOL!

Yes I agree, I like it too.

As an alternative to demos, try buying a few flashy, graphically
stunning over-the-top type of games. Something like
C&C:Generals/Zero-hour, or X2, Return of the King (there are several
others) and make sure to turn on AA/AS and crank up the resolution to
16x12.

Check out a first-person-shooter named Chrome - you'll find yourself
playing in a forest loking pretty sweet. The game also seems worth
buying btw.

Just in case nobody knew this, if you rename "Fairy.exe" to
"Quake3.exe" and then run it, the fairy is completely nude. Nice!

The Bacteria Demo/Screensaver is beautifull, so beautifull that I use
it as screensaver, looks great and since my computer "idles" allot
it's also pretty nice to have.

Unfortunately, your computer is doing anything BUT idling when running a 3D
screensaver.

Nice catch. CPU's shoot up to 100% utilization and +5 temp degrees
easily when a heavily animated screen saver kicks in. Idle would be
blank screen. (get Webshots).

Gotta go,

I downloaded it with a P2P program, you need another program called
3danalyser or something to patch it to run on an ATI DX9 card.

The thing about the ATI screen savers is that they have a logo there all the
time, which seems to be a bit contraditory for a screen saver, is there
anyway to remove it?

But if you have a hefty graphics card surely that takes the load off the
cpu, allowing it to idle abit more?. I know what you mean though. I prefer a
blank screen.
