ok, got my network up and sharing files / folders but what about drives ?

i want to share cd drives on my xp desktop with my win2k laptop; how
can i share a whole cd / dvd drive? will the win2k laptop be able to
play audio cd's or dvd's from the xp desktop ? if not what about just
file / folder access ? can i write to my xp desktop dvdrw from my
win2k laptop ?

Just open My Computer, right-click on the drive you want to share,
select Properties and go to the Sharing tab. Once you acknowledge
the warning message about the security risks involved you can
configure the drive to be shared.

so it will share what ever files or folders are on whatever cd / dvd
happens to be in the drive at the time? can i play audio cd's or watch
dvd's this way?

ok, i did that but on my win2k laptop i get an access denied error.
(even when there is a cd in the drive)
