Ohhh Microsoft! I pressume?

I've just spent an hour watching paint dry (or it seemed like that)!

I decided it was time to use the Windows XP (Home version) update icon, to
well, update me laptop.


So for quite a while on the DSL connection this long list of MS Critical
updates down-load. Then it starts to install them. Now all of a sudden I
start getting warning messages that the update will NOT be installed
because ----------Its not a verified Win XP software!!!!!!!

This is MS critical update software form the MS web site!

So, options, either there's something drastically wrong with my computer or
MS have dropped a rather large clanger. Anyone got any thoughts on this?
