Offline folders remains offline?!

Hey there,

we're having an issue with several workstations where offline folders went
active after a switch power down. After the switches came back up the
offline folders tool refuses to see the servers and keeps the workstations
offline. This is extremely annoying, because the network is completely
unaccessible now. Even reboots won't help. The only thing I can do is turn
offline folders off, in which case all shares are working again instantly.
However, we don't want to turn offline folders off.

Any ideas on what might cause this?

Kind regards

You don't say what OS you are using on your PCs and Server(s),
and if there are any error mesages.

But you can start here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;815045

Would have sworn I sent a re earlier, but appearantly it's gone MIA. Anyways
it's WindowsXP (SP2). The problem probably came to live due to GPO's. We
redirect the my document folder to the user share (which is also the home
drive) from the GPO (2003 server). We changed this location to another
share. On some PC's it persists in also trying to sync the old location
(even on some users that never logged on while the old GPO was active?!).
As this is no longer available it might think the server is offline and
disconnect you from the entire network, or atleast, that's where I think
the problem comes from.

Regards & TIA
