Offline files not working in Windows Explorer

Hi,

I having trouble with "Make available offline" option in Windows Explorer. I
have enabled offline files feature and I see the option when I right click my
folder. However, nothing happens after I click the "Make available offline"
(eg. the offline line wizard never appears). The offline files folder stays
empty. If make a web page offline that works fine.

It's just "Make available offline" for folders in Windows Explorer doesn't
work for me.

I have checked all the group policy settings. Turned off fast-user switching.

I am currently running XP Pro service pack 2.

Tried lots of things but still not working...
Please help...Thanks
Cindy

Hi Cindy,

See if this command helps, from Start/Run:

regsvr32 cscui.dll

what folders are you trying to make available offline?
can you create an offline version off that folder on another computer?
cause this has to be allowed on the server as well

Hi grtz,

Other people on the network have no problems make that folder offline line.
Could it be the way that I am logon to the network? Because I am logon to
the workgroup instead of the domain.

Thanks

Hi Ramesh,

The command was successful. But the problem still persists.
The laptop is new so do you think that I am missing some setup stuff?

Thanks
Cindy

Hi Cindy,

You can use the method discussed in the following article to determine if a
third-party shell extension is blocking the Offline Files option.

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers:
