"Make Available Offline" not showing in Windows XP Pro

I have Windows XP Pro and am trying to make network folders available offline
for synchronization. I've done absolutely everything according to the
instructions I've seen, disabling fast switching, enabling offline files, and
enabling offline caching, and my folders are set up to share.

When I go to the File Menu or right click on the folder, I do not get the
"Make Available Offline" option, period. I've gone around in circles on this
now for hours on end and am at my wit's end. I've reviewed several different
articles, rebooted numerous times, and nothing works.

There would seem to be something here beyond the basic set-up that's wrong
and preventing this from working. Please help. Thanks.

If you're trying to use Offline Folders, you need a network drive that
you make available on your local computer. Usually it's only used for
laptops, because they disconnect from networks and many times the My
Documents folder is redirected to a network share. It's an unreliable
process, one that I have eliminated from any networks I admin. Do you
have the network drive mapped?

I'm trying to do this so I can take my files on the road on my laptop. If
someone has a better suggestion on how to do this, that would be great.

My network drive IS mapped.

My IE version is 8, but I'm exclusively using Firefox.

On the GPO settings, all are "Not Configured."

Thanks.
